Reach for College helping inner city kids get to college
Reach for College! For Community Groups
Community groups such as churches, community centers, youth-serving nonprofits, out-of-school time programs for teens all play vital roles in the lives of traditionally disadvantaged young people. Reach for College! is happy to partner with such organizations. Together, we can help more youth to productive, engaged, successful lives through further education.

Reach for College! works out individualized partnerships with each community group, according to the needs and goals of the group. Our curriculum and program services are offered for nominal fees.

Contact us to see how we can work together to greatly increase the life opportunities for the teens you are working with.

Current Partnerships in the DC Area
  • Prince George's Tennis and Education Foundation (PGTEF) combines Saturday morning tennis coaching and education about colleges and how to get there, using the Reach for College! curriculum. This is our fourth year of partnership. PGTEF works with about 25 students per year. 99% of them go to college.

  • Parent Information and Resource Centers (PIRC) provide information and assistance to families to help them learn how best to support and assist their children through the educational pipeline from pre-K through college. Reach for College! supports DC PIRC in this mission and partners with them to help families focus on preparing their students for higher education and help them through the processes to get to college and graduate. Most recently RFC was one of twenty-five organizations that helped organize and put on the Family Education Expo at McKinley Technological High School.

Current Partnerships in New York and New Jersey
Through a Reach for College! partnership with the United States Tennis Association Eastern Section (USTA Eastern), a growing number of New York and New Jersey students are participating in an after-school tennis coaching and college-prep program, using the RFC curriculum. In 2007–2008, 50 students from three high schools participated in the program. 100% of the seniors were accepted to college. In 2009–2010, 500 students from 20 schools will participate..
